Hi,

Is it possible to code something that does a search on google for images, and then loads that image into the page? (all in one step, so automatically)

Yes, but it would be against Google's ToS.

But that's an interesting point, if I can google an image, and then download it, and then upload it into a html page, why would the google TOS be against that happening automatically with a script?

And could you point me in the direction of how that would be possible with code? 🙂

First, you can only download and upload an image to your own XHTML web page if the image is royalty/copyright free.

Second, Google wants you to use their web site to get your results. You creating a script to bypass this is obviously a conflict of interest.

Third, you would need to look into cURL. http://www.php.net/curl

I see where you're coming from, but its all a bit weird when you think about it. There's this huge resource of publically viewable imagery, that you would of thought would of been perfect as a database of images.

Would there be a google API that could be used?

Ahh yes but thats not what google images is for, its not there to provide you with images you can use willy nilly, all the images listed on google images are most likely Copyrighted to their respective owners.
