Can anyone please tell me how to assign a javascript variable value to a PHP variable?

Well, since those two languages are on the opposite ends of the spectrum so-to-speak (JavaScript is executed on the client's machine after the page is sent), you need to transport the JS data back to the server.

The most common method to do this now is to use an AJAX call to submit data to a script and do something according to the remote script's response.

Using a form to send the data on submission using either GET or POST, which is effectively what the AJAX call would do

If you only accept responses that entail something you already know, then why are you here to ask us? :p Honestly though, upgrading yourself and learning new skills is the way to keep yourself marketable and expand your knowledge...

Still, what TF is suggesting is something like creating hidden elements in a form, using JavaScript to give them the values you want, and then submit the form (e.g. document.myForm.submit()).
