I just had laser surgery done on my right eye for a torn retina. The good news is the doctor said he thought it went well. The bad news (though all things considered it's not really all that bad) is that it will probably be a few days before the blood in my right eye starts to get reabsorbed to the point where it will be much use again. So in the meantime you folks will probably have to somehow find a way to survive without my usual level of presence here, as it's rather annoying trying to work at a computer with one eye closed. Maybe I should get any eye patch for that sexy pirate look? 🙂
Anyway, I guess I'm lucky to be living in a time and place where in less than 24 hours of noticing the first symptoms they were able to repair it just by shooting beams of coherent light into my eye. (Yes, there's a little pain when they do it, but it's only for a few instants.)
And if any of you ever start seeing strange flashes, see your eye doctor ASAP!
