news management script

I've already tried google, and I've found a few scripts that look to be good, but before I decide, I wanted to check here...

I'm looking for a simple news script that allows me to have a simple admin CP to post articles for my site.

If one is available, one with comments is good, and that connects to a MySQL database.

Like I said, I already checked google, and have a few in mind, but I wanted to check here, since people here sometimes have really good scripts they've found.

Depending on how much time you have to implement it, I always recommend building from scratch so that you a) gain a greater understanding of language b) build all the features you want, and none you don't.

I would write my own, but, I have minimal knowledge of php coding. I can only write very simple scripts, and even those are sometimes hard to write for me. I'm learning, but I'm not at the level to right it.

what you are looking for is a CMS (Content Management System)
There are a lot of them out there, some better than others that dont require much PHP knowledge. I would recommend one but I have never used a 3rd party CMS so I cant say which is which. I hear www.drupal.com is a good one, but you might be looking for something more basic. Search google for "PHP CMS" and see what you can find

I would say a full CMS is a little overkill for something like this. Try NewsPHP
