I have tried to use PHP & Paypal together however am having some trouble with the SSL connection to get transaction details once the payment has been completed. From the Paypal website I have got this script which connects using the address bar variable "tx" which is the transaction number. The script then posts this to Paypal and gets back either "SUCCESS" or "FAIL", and if SUCCESS a list of variables such as payer_email and first_name etc.
Unfortunately it always seems to fail. I don't know how to add any error handling and would really like to fix this and learn how to do things like this again in the future.
