I have a date displaying in the following format 2007-12-14 13:01:53 i want to display in this format 14-12-2007 how can i do this

$ddmmyyyy = date('d-m-Y', strtotime($date_time));

Or if it is coming from a MySQL query, you could use the DATE_FORMAT() function in the query itself.

Or just look at the formats and notice that all the parts of the second format are already there in the first format, and that to get at them you could just use [man]substr[/man] or [man]sscanf[/man] or [man]preg_match[/man] or [man]strtok[/man], or ....

Is this datetime value coming from MySQL perhaps? If so, MySQL can do the conversion for you using DATE_FORMAT().
