[RESOLVED] PHP LOGIC STRUCTURE

I am new to php and have no problem with learning the syntax and understanding it, but I have trouble sometimes thinking through the logic of the program.

A script that i am studying on how to create a sortable display with pagination using a mysaql db for the row info. i am having a hard time remembering exactly the order in which each process is supposed to happen. I know there are more than one way of doing things but is there anyone who can give me suggestions on where to start when planning the logical order of things.

Some good books to suggest would be very helpful too. The example I got is from Lary Ullmans PHP and MySQL for dynamic websites edition 2. (if you are familiar)

a good starter book is php and mysql for dummies, this shows how to create your projects in the correct way.

Thanks Benracer. I will look into that book. I guess its hard to find a book that explains the thought process instead of just the code and it does..

i second that, it was the first book i purchased when learning PHP & MYSQL, it explains this in simple and clear ways, so along with that book and this site i have learned a language i thought i would never learn.

Also, it just takes experience. With each new script you build your logic skills will increase. I know that's not very helpful but it's the truth.

Thanks guys. I will take your advice about getting that book. I guess I am just impatient and want to know it all now.
