What is in Engels the name of this script:
- in Dutch, It calls a BERICHTENBALK

I will find a good script in hotscripts.com, but i dont now what's the wright name if this?

The scrolling text is often called a "marquee". However, please note that many people find that sort of effect distracting, so use it with caution and the realization that you may be irritating some of your site's visitors. There is a non-standard HTML tag called <marquee> which can be used to achieve this effect.

Ah, now here is where PHP can get involved. Forget the scrolling text, be it by clientside scripting or the non-standard marquee tag. Instead, concentrate on allowing a user to submit text, much like how you can post on this forum.

I'm assuming that you're willing to write it yourself, of course.

However, that does not accurately describe what it is in this case. The text may have nothing to do with news, and is user submitted as opposed to hard coded or entered by an administration control panel.

If you're talking about a script where people can leave comments that are displayed to the world, I normally call that a "shoutbox".

Google the term (e.g. "php shoutbox") and you should find many examples.

seriously, now - it's basically a shoutbox with a marquee scroller instead of a regular "columns and rows" output. The user postings is what the key for it seems to be, and that would be a shoutbox. The scrolling is just a display feature, hideous as it may be :\

Heh... that's why I preceded my suggestion with a basic definition that purpose didn't give specifics as to the "display" part of it. :p
