identifing the current URL

I need to be able to identify the current URL of the page being view in order to put it in a link on that page.

I am creating a social bookmarking link and need to identify the current URL to allow it to populate the social bookmark site's form with the URL to the page being viewed when the user clicks on it.

$_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] should be available.

If you need to include any URL query string data, too:

$thisUrl = 'http://www.yoursite.com' . $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];

Is there any way to find out the page the user came from to a certain page, the previous url?

There is $_SERVER['HTTP_REFERER'], but it is unreliable, if it is set at all.
