Getting thumbnail from video LINK

hey guys, new here hows it going?

I'm just wondering if anyone can lead me in the right direction on this one...

I'm trying to fetch a videos thumbnail and description from its URL

for example, if you submit a youtube link (or google video) to this site:

[off-site link deleted. -- MOD]

it will show the thumbnail and description after you hit apply.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

You would need a script/program that can read the video file and extract an image from it and then resize it. PHP can handle the resizing via the GD library [man]image[/man] functions, but you will likely need to locate a third-party solution for the first part of the puzzle (or likely both parts). You might want to search www.sourceforge.net if you want to locate an open-source solution.
