Ipod Download

I have videos on my sight, each video has an ipod format. So what I need to do is when somebody clicks on the download for ipod it will ask them to connect there ipod and when it is connected it will start downloading straight to the movies folder. Thats about it.

Is it possible to check existence of a directory on the cliet computer? And if the directory exists then download a file to it, and if it doesn't then do something else?

No. Programming languages do not check the existence of directories, nor do they upload/download files.

Software, on the other hand, might do this.

You can use javascript to check for the existence of a local directory, but it requires the use of ActiveX...

Before anyone else answers: why do you want to do this, and what exactly are you trying to do?

I'm making a website so people can watch videos and thought it would be cool to make a link for them to download straight to there ipod. But before they can download I need to make sure the ipod is plugged in by checking if the "removable drive" exists.
i'm still in early development so it look crudy but here is the beginning (and there are a lot of glitches).here

Well in that case how do you know which drive letters correspond to removable devices? How do you know which removable device is an iPod?

Best bet here is to simply have instructions on how to download a video to an iPod and then offer a simple download link.
