[RESOLVED] Finding directory names

Hi there,

I've written a little script that is skinnable. What i'm looking to do is be able to upload a directory inside my "themes" dir. Then find the directory name, add it to the DB, and then not get that result anymore.

So for example:

themes/theme1
themes/theme2
themes/theme3

It will get only the "theme1", "theme2", and "theme3". It will then add them to the database. Next time the script is ran, it will leave out them directories.

I've been googling about, and havent really been able to find anything that i can really expand upon... I'm just a bit confused about it really.

Can anyone give me a little nudge in the right direction? 🙂

You may want to look in the PHP manual at the File System stuff. Particularly, in the user comments section, it talks about how to list files in a directory. You could easily adapt that for directories just the same. This is probably where you want to start... Let us know if you still need more nudging.

Do you mean that each time you run the script the database gets updated with another set of same directory?

If so, then you can set the directory field as unique so that it won't get updated the next time.

Thanks so much for your input on that 🙂 Was a great help. I looked into the comments on the php site and seen people doing a similar thing, so i've just adapted it a little bit.. This probably isn't the best way to do it, but it works! lol

Any cleanup tips?
