Looking for a code analyzer/sniffer

Hello,

Can anyone recommend for me a good code analyzer? It doesn't have to be a free tool, it can be commercial. I'm looking for a tool to assess a PHP project written by a 3rd party. I need to know as much information as possible about the code, including listing unused variables and functions.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm not looking for a documenter though, I need an analysis tool; something that will report errors, bad practices, inefficiences, unused variables and functions, etc... From the documentation of PHPXRef, it sounded like a documenter to me.

You seem to be looking for a static code analyser for PHP. I do not know of any, but searching the Web brings me to RATS that may help.

If you're prepared to pay (it's disabled in the personal use version) then Zend Studio has one of these - along with all the dynamic analysis stuff, as well.
