tracking and tracing packages...

Hello,
I am working on a web-site for my friends that is about transportation of large packages that take a few days to get to the destiny.
I need to build a script kinda like WESTERN UNION has, where the client can keep a CODE number and then go to the site, put that number and see where the package is. That information should be updatable by my friends in a easy way...
Is this possible to create in PHP and which steps should I follow?

Should be easily implemented with PHP and MySQL.

save all tracking info (where what time with unique code) into mysql table:

• code
• location
• time

retrieve location and time with code using PHP.

Get a good PHP book and at the end of reading you should be able to do that.
