Whether you care about mysql or not, you have to agree, it is a substantial part of the web industry today. There is a MUCH larger number of servers out there for hosting running mysql vs psql. FWIW, I use both here at work and like them both.
I do not, however, like JAVA, but that has no bearing on the mysql side of things. According to articles, they will keep the M in LAMP strong and keep it there.
