Does anyone have a link to an example of inserting or updaing a mysql record using php and Jquery from a form field?

Check on jquery's website for examples of AJAX with PHP. There could be a few!

Yeh it works. Ajax sounds more complicated than it really is but I still have some reading to do as I'm not great with JS.
