Authorizenet only supports USA merchants, right?

I am looking for a Canadian Payment Gateway Service.

Right now, I am checking the Moneris Solutions - eSelect plus. Any one has experience with them, how is it?

Any other experiece you can share or any other Canadian Payment Gateway Service you can recommend?

I am not Candian.

In my experience, you would be best off talking to your bank. Whoever you get your merchant account from for processing credit cards (e.g. over the phone) can probably provide you with a payment gateway.

You will definitely want a merchant account (at least if Canada is anything like the UK) - otherwise you get ripped off.

The likes of Worldpay, Paypal can probably be used in just about any country, but they are very expensive compared to having a proper account.

And if you're a legitimate business doing thousands of dollars per month (even CAD) then you should not have difficulty setting it up.

If you want, I have a contact that works directly with authorize.net. I can see if they handle canadian. I recall that they did, but I'm not sure.

Paypal requires USA merchant account with credits history, meaning set up USA merchant account freshly new may not be approved due to new USA merchant has no credits history.

I have USA clients using authorizenet. As I know, Authorizenet only deal with USA merchant account. As a web developer, when I applied for a test authorizenet account for testing out my system, authorizenet won't give it to me due to I don't have USA business address.

So my client already decided using Canadian Payment Gateway service now.

Now, I have USA clients using authorizenet, EU clients using Bibit, and now I need to find a top Canadian payment gateway service for Canadian clients. We may go with eselectplus for Canadian, the approval process is a little bit longer though. They said 1-2 weeks.

I don't have Canadian client want to use Authorizenet now. But stolzyboy, if it is not too much trouble, if you can find out if authorizenet accept Canadian merchant account, it might be very helpful for my future Canadian clients. When I called authorizenet to see if they accept Canadian merchant account, they put me on hold for 40 minutes and I hung it up.

Well, he is a "reseller" of Authorize.Net, so he can do different things, but he said he'd need to know a couple things up front before he can even give a yes/no/maybe.

He'd need to know:

how long have they been in biz?
whats their processing volume (estimate)?
are they incorporated?

If you can get me an idea on those, I can see what he says. If you give estimates, you can use that for future clients as well.

It may be interesting to know either way.

Thanks! the one i have now already went with canaidan solution. and i think she will not fit in your friend's criteria. But I can ask my future canadian clients these 3 questions if they want to go with authorizenet.

it is a totally new business.
the volume we don't know but with hundreds highend products it might not be small.
