trim

pease see this code:

$text=trim($text);

echo "i".$text."i" ?>

it showes: i hello i

because i put Alt+0160 before and after hello word! then $text can not trim!

is there any way when i put alt+0160 (instaed of space key) then text will be trim like as space key?

edited: after i posted this subject i saw alt+0160 converts to * in this boad.
but when you put alt+0160 in .php file it showes space character.

Use the additional parameter charlist:

$text=trim($text,chr(160));

Unicode calls code point 00A0 the "NO-BREAK-SPACE" (I love the way they capitalise everything). By definition, it's not a character you'd break on, so it's not surprising that trim() doesn't touch it.
