Hay, I've been looking hard on and cant find anything that does this, its pretty strange too. It seems like something that would be commonly used.

I want to back up my Blogger blog to a mysql database so i can move all of my posts over to my new site which isn't blogger hosted, but I cant find any way to save all the blogger post to a database.

Can anyone help, can anyone save me from the peril of copy and pasting 100's of old blog entires into a new database?

Well you'd need direct access to the database, the structure, the root password, etc. I doubt Blogger will turn that over to you. The only way I can think to get around that would be to write a screen scraper that just loops through a list of blog URLs and pulls the data in that way. That would be a painstaking venture.

Or you could use the Blogger API to get the content in a machine-readable form.

Once you've authenticated, requesting http://www.blogger.com/feeds/blogID/posts/default will get you XML containing all the posts and their associated metadata for the blog.
