Format user URL

I need to be able to take user provided URL in either format such as

https://www.usersite.com
http://www.usersite.com
www.usersite.com
usersite.com

Ant turn it into a link. I am sure someone had the same problem before. If you can turn me into the right direction I'd be very grateful.

never mind. I put validation on the form where they submit URL and prompt to enter either http:// or https://

Works.

The only problem with this is that any html/javascript form validation is that it can be easily passed. Using sever side validation would prove better. 😃
