problem with upploading file

i have an application that can also upload files in a folder with permissions 777. it was working until i deleted some users from the server's usergroup psacln. So this post is not actually about a problem with php, but about a problem with linux and apache.

I have many domains that are using the application and they all have problems when uploading files. The folder upload that i'm using for uploading, has domain_client as the owner, and psacln as the group. I've probably removed something from that group that was used for giving access to them...

I really need some help with this as is urgent! Thanks!

Make sure the apache user is apart of the pascln group, that's all I can think of.

i removed apache from the group but nothing changed...do i have to restart apache or something?

Well, apache should be IN the group I think. I'm not a plesk person (I use more cPanel myself, and suPHP and Suexec) so I can't be 100% sure. But if anything, I'd suggest if you need quick decisive answers, you go to #plesk on irc.freenode.org to get your answers. They would be some of the best people to ask as they pretty-much work on the code-base for Plesk 😉

And I believe you have to restart the Plesk service and Apache if not completely reboot the system.
