Tips on designing sent mail forms

Does anyone have some good tips on how to design better-looking emails sent from forms on websites?

Typically, I just include all the strings and objects from a form and add a line break to them, so when I receive emails it's just boring text with line breaks.

Is it easy to apply CSS to emails in PHP? If anyone knows of a good tutorial or lesson, that would be terrific!

btw, quick question: In my message string, i'm trying to add line breaks, but I'm doing something wrong.

$message = $_REQUEST['description'] . "/n" . "Name: $name" . "/n" . "Email: $email" . "/n" . "Telephone: $phone";

Doesn't the /n add a line break between concatenations?

also if you're going to be doing HTML emails you'll want to use <br /> instead of \n, most likely.
