PHP and the likes

I'm just getting into PHP and I have absolutely no idea what I am doing. I have Apache, XAmpp, PHP5, and MySQL installed. When I write my code and look at it in the browser it is just a blank page. I then read you have to put the file in your apache root folder. Where is that? Gahh I'm extremely lost in all this. Any help is appreciated.

If you used XAMPP to do your installation, I believe it will have created a folder called "htdocs" somewhere under its installation directory. If you find that, you'll want to put your web documents in that directory or any sub-directory you want to create under it. Then to launch a file you must use a URL in your browser like "http://localhost/filename.php" (you cannot just double-click it in Explorer of do a File->Open from the browser menu).
