Is it possible to buy domain names of other people?

Basically I want try and register www.target.co.uk, but it is currently in use. How do I found out information on how to buy it from the current owner? How do I know he owns it? When you register a name, do you actually own it, or are you just renting it? How do you buy a name and keep it forever?

Good luck! chances are you will not be able to buy this domain. a "whois" lookup reveals that this company owns about 300 domains. So unless you are willing to buy it from them. You might have to wait many many years.

You could send them an email though i can be certain that the price will be high also there is no email address given though this may be stated somewhere on other sites they own, try writing to the postal address above. I did a bt phone check and no number was given. This means they are x directory.
