Help with variables!

Hello,

I have a Flash movie that, when I click the submit button, uploads the variables firstname, lastname, email and comment to submitcomment.php ...

Everything works great, however when I retrieve the variables using...

$firstname=$_POST['firstname'];
$lastname=$_POST['lastname'];
$email=$_POST['email'];
$comment=$_POST['comment'];

...and I echo the local variables or use them in any way, it gives me, for example if I echo $email:

<TEXTFORMAT LEADING=\"5\"><P ALIGN=\"LEFT\"><FONT
 FACE=\"Arial\" SIZE=\"12\" COLOR=\"#333333\" LETTERSPACING=\"0\"
 KERNING=\"0\">[e-mail]</FONT></P></TEXTFORMAT>

So, ok, it gives me the correct string, but with all this other stuff around it. I simply want $email to echo: [e-mail].

For your reference, in Flash I use:

loadVariablesNum("http://www.mydomain.com/submitcomment.php", 0, "POST");

Any ideas?? Please help!

I have no idea.

PHP is doing its job fine so the problem must be in the Flash code. You should probably post your query to a Flash forum.

If this extraneous code is similar for each of the other variables, you could try using regular expressions to extract what you want. http://us2.php.net/manual/en/ref.pcre.php
