I need to write code that generates an HTML-previewable report, and printed formatting is paramount. However, as I understand it, there is a noteable lack of support among browsers for paged media related CSS.
So, what is the best approach with limited time? Should I simply keep track of how many lines of text have been written, then try forcing a page break or are there better ways of doing this with limited time... such as generate a PDF?
And just how hard is it to create PDFs? I'm not asking you to teach me how to do it. However, I've heard from one person that creating good PDFs is very hard, and I have limited time to get this done. On the other hand, while he has some knowledge of coding, he is not a programmer, nor does he want to be.
What I need to deal with is some texts, some lists and some pictures. Text length, picture sizes etc may vary. All is retrieved from a database.
All and any suggestions appreciated
