str_replace problem

i have a list of numbers i want to replace by words:

"1001", "2002", "3003", "4004", "5005", "6006", "7007", "8008", "9009", "10010", "11011", "12012", "13013", "14014", "15015", "16016", "17017", "18018", "19019", "20020", "21021", "22022", "23023", "24024"

the problem is that 20020 will also be replaced by the same thing as 2002 because "2002" is found in "20020"

what syntax can i use to solve this problem?

Try it back to front - the longer numbers first. Then 20020 will be replaced before 2002 is. I heard something today about array_reverse().. or something like that. Look it up on google and see if it would come in useful for this.
