Dolphin Confusion...

Hi pplz

im using dolphin 6 (Boonex) for my website. I try to install it but when i get to a step it says this error:

Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (46)

Help please!

Are you able to use [man]mysql_connect/man to connect to a database normally? If not, then I'd say that either (1) you don't have MySQL installed correctly or (2) you're running it on a different port than normal (which is 3306).

Also, what is the relevant code that they use to connect to MySQL? Do they specify the host to be "/tmp/mysql.sock" or did you specify that? Typically the host for MySQL is "localhost".

Dolphin from boonex does not require me to write the code; everthing is set up when i get it installed... i do have mysql installed correctly and im using 3306 but i dont know what the problem is! :queasy:

All I can say is that your MySQL server wasn't accessible at that time. For what reason I have no idea. If you can successfully connect to mysql with mysql_connect(), then there's something wrong with what you're putting in as the values during setup.

Since noone here knows what you're putting in, or what they expect, we can't really help you. All we can say is that you should keep trying, or get their support involved.
