suggestion: I need a framework!

Hi all,

I've planned to use framework for my project. But after survey few days, I still cant decide any.

I must admit that I've never used php framework before. i wish i could start with a good one to develop my project without turning to another.

little requirements of mine:
1. must support ajax
2. must communicate well with PEAR
3. able to use ADODB
4. well online support / help
5. good references

I've read and compared ten most popular php framework:

Scope become smaller : CakePHP, Symfony, Prado

When i search more information on google, there are pros and cons each of them.
Some say cakePHP cannot support PEAR well, bad references; symfony is too complicated, etc etc...

Sounds like your looking for the silverbullet of PHP frameworks. I don't think there is one.

It's got to be better for you to try them out and see if you like them and understand them. I could pick Prado, but you might eventually hate it.

Things like 'must support ajax' are strange too, I don't really understand what things a PHP framework could do to help you significantly with that...

Besides, the only framework i've liked using so far is the Zend Framework.

Yeah, I've tried out a couple of different frameworks and always came away from it with a bad taste in my mouth. They either do too much and it's a huge bloat over what you actually need, or they do too little and you have to hack on them to make it do what you want even longer than it would take to just write the code in the first place.

Thats the one thing I like about the Zend Framework, its got some nice things... but you don't have to use it all if you just want a bit of it.

It can do a full MVC, or it can just help you out with something liks Zend_Form, or whatever else.
