[RESOLVED] unexpected T_ELSE error

so i'm pretty new to doing this, and i got this error after setting up a mod that i did not even go into the index.php folder to set up. so now i'm a little lost. so i'm really trying and appriciate all the help. thanks.

The problem is that you have more "{" than you have "}". The related problem is that it is 700 lines of procedural code with many layers of if/else and loop blocks, so it may not be simple for anyone not familiar with the code to just look at it and say exactly where the missing "}" is. In fact, it's possible the actual problem is in one of the files included by this script. Your best bet would probably be to contact the author if you can.

Try puttin in an extra '}' into line 597.
It might work .. it might not 🙁

Like this:

				}
			}
		}}      // this is line 597
	} // for ... categories

}// if ... total_categories
else
{
	message_die(GENERAL_MESSAGE, $lang['No_forums']);

I am glad for your sake 🙂 and I was rather sure I had found it.

By the way, I have studied the code of phpBB, both 2 and new phpBB3.
So I have most probably looked into that file before.
The code looked familiar to me.
