Is there a way to minimize CPU power?

I am not aware of any reason it would be particularly CPU intensive. It will take some time due to the fact that it has to wait for the response just like your browser has to wait for a response when it sends an HTTP request to a server across the 'net, but it is probably not doing much at all with the CPU while it's waiting.

Do you have any direct evidence that it is eating up CPU cycles?
