[RESOLVED] a problem with losing sessions occasionally

I've made a shopping cart thingy for a site and i've tested it pretty thoroughly - however there have been several users who've said they've had probs with the cart - that they get halfway through ordering and suddenly the cart is empty

at the moment i'm using a php session to contain the order items, as i was under the impression that it's better to do as much as possible on the server rather than client-side - is this good or not good ? do php sessions die suddenly ? would it be better (safer) to do it with javascript client-side ?

does anyone have any thoughts on this ?

check if you started the session or not in that page. Also check the variables.

there's really no problem with the sessions or the vars as they work perfectly in 99% of cases but there are a few that don't work and i was wondering if it would be better in js
