Basic Calculation

This is probably a very basic question.

I am building a reservation form which requires a deposit to be totaled from the different facilities selected.

I found some nice answers here for doing more advanced calculations, but they are not what I am searching for. I just need to add the fields for a total to be put in the deposit field.

For example: name="Main Hall for 250 people": $200 + name="Jeffrey Air Station": $100 = $300.

I am building it as an HTML Form which is converted with Forms To Go PHP for emailing.

You could provide the user with a form in a table. One column of the table would be the name of the facility. Another column would be the price. Yet another column would hold a check box that would be checked if the user wants that facility (assuming that you have distinct facilities, one of each kind, otherwise a drop down menu of numbers would be more appropriate).

So when the user checks off the facilities required and submits the form, you then process the ids of the checked facilities, retrieve the price from the database, then add it to a running total.

First off:
If you do 1 + 1 in php it results in 2
But if you do 1 . 1 it results in 11.
+ is used for mathematic operations, if you wanna display "Main Hall for 250 people: 100" you should do echo("Main Hall for 250 people: " . $200);

I have been tasked with converting a "terms and agreement" paper form to an online html/php form which can be emailed to the company. I was able to convert their Banquet Rental Form. You can view it at http://www.penngroveretreat.com/banquet.htm

However, the other forms are no so easy, because I will need to embed some calculations into the form. Here is a sample of one part of the form:

I will need to set-up the date to be 60 days before the reserved date and calculate the deposit field to be 15% of the of the total calculated amount.
