This is a calendar display problem. I have two tables HOLIDAYS and HOLIDATES.
Holidays looks like:
key holiday open
1 ind 0 (Independence day)
2 gfr 1 (Good Friday)
So, in my scheme the '0' indicates closed on Independence Day and the '1' indicates open on Good Friday.
Holidates looks like:
key year holiday date
1 2008 ind 2008-07-04
So, what I THINK I need to do is query HOLIDAYS and if I find OPEN to be '0' I need to pull the date for that holiday from HOLIDATES and put it in an array to check when I print my calendar.
I am also open to a better way of accomplishing this. I can figure out how to do this with 80 lines of code - I'm hoping for a better solution.
(When the calendar prints days closed are in red, which works great if they are closed every Sunday . . . I need the same functionality for days closed due to holidays, the dates of which are subject to change in some cases.)
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!
