blank text field error message.

I have a bunch of php code that runs when the button is submitted. One of those things are if the text boxes are blank. Currently if they are blank it goes to a new blank page and just puts the error message on the very top. How do I put the error next to the text box for that particular item that needs to be entered again? I have everything in divs..there is no way to say on error insert this into this div right?

maybe you should make sure
- user comes back to same form ( action = current page )
- alternatively, tell him Go Back ( with hitting 'Go Back' button )
- some field was 'blank', message display: Please submit all requried INFO, thank you.
