I have a directory with subdirectories of user's pictures. I want to allow users
to delete their current folder of pictures and add a new one. I am using
unlink(directory_name) as a way of deleting the subdirectory and keep getting messages of access denied; I have tried to change permissions on the main directory with no results yet.
Suggestions anyone.

unlink is for removing files. rmdir() is used for deleting directories, but the directory needs to be empty.
