[RESOLVED] using GET variables with include

im trying to load some content in a process file that is accessed by the rest of the site using $_GET requests via ajax

im trying to set a default page when the page first loads by using a php include:

<?php include "/includes/process.php?home"; ?>

it doesnt load and my PHP Error log says:

if I cannot access the page this way.. how can I?

A url query string (the "?" and the stuff that follows) only has meaning in the context of a HTTP request. When you include a file via its file system path-name, that is not a HTTP request, it is a file system request. Thus the "?home" portion of the string is interpreted as being part of the file name.

Probably the safest way would be to directly set the relevant $GET values, and then include the file without the query string:

$_GET['home'] = "";
include "/includes/process.php";

doesnt work... but I was able to workaround it with AJAX

PS: Didn't notice it at first, but you probably wanted to do:

include $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . "/includes/process.php";

Otherwise you would have been looking for a file in the "/includes" directory directly under the file system root directory (not the web site document root).
