Get flv length

Ok so i'm working on a video progect, and I needed to get the length the the flv that was getting uploaded and inserting it into a database... So how would you get the flv length??? Oh, and if it doesn't make it hard enough, my hosting company won't let me install ffmpeg 🙁 .

If the file is uploaded using your PHP scripts, the $_FILES array will tell you how large the uploaded file is.

If not, consider using [man]filesize[/man].

I meant the length of the video file in like 00:00 format...

If that doesn't do it, try posting at flashkit.com or actionscript.org. AFAIK the flash file format has been published -- or at least reverse-engineered. There should be some way to do it.

ok, i tried searching through actionscript.org but couldn't find anything... and that page on the second reply only works on swf and i am using flv... thanks for the help and anymore is appresiated
