PHP5 Grab EMBED and Get Params

Howdy everyone,

I am wondering what would be the best way to grab a embed tag and its parameters.

I know i would need to search for <embed and the </embed>, but I dont know how I would grab all the parameters of the embed.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

You probably want to use something like this
preg_match( "/<embed ([^{>])*>/",$string} , $matches )

Basicly...

I am wanting to write a script that will take the youtube object and embed tags and put them into a javascript tag so it validates in the W3C.

Anyone know how to do that?

The preg_match grabs the parameters of the <embed> tag
It looks for <embed and then grabs everything that is not >

I assume you want JS to echo the <embed ...></embed> to grab this, use
preg_match( "/<embed .*<\/embed>/i" , $string , $matches );

The i makes it case insensitive
