Im such a newb at this, but is HTML-coding for websites hard?

It is all very doable. Don't worry. Have a look at the source of pages, take a good text and WYSIWYG editor to start off with. Have a look at examples (e.g., htmlgoodies.com) and have fun!

Basically there are two ways to do HTML.

The first one is to put the code directly into a file. It could be a little confusing to start with, but you will soon get the hang of it.

The second one is to use a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor. It allows you to graphically create your page and all the HTML is generated for you.

I suggest that you code it yourself. It is a little harder to start with, but it allows you to do what you want. A good place to start is w3schools, there you can learn the basics in a good way.

A fairly clear and friendly set of tutorials is at www.HTMLDog.com (no affiliation with NogDog 🙂 ). Once you start getting comfortable with the basics, start diving into the official specifications* when learning new things, to see what the spec.'s have to say about it. That way you'll eventually get used to reading them, and then you can go to them when you have specific questions/problems, as they are the ultimate source, and any secondary source may have lost something in the translation and end up giving you incomplete, misleading, or just plain wrong information.
