[RESOLVED] mysqli none prepared statement?

actually im posting this because i'm curious.

i understand that prepared statement assist in preventing sql injection and the ability to reuse the prepared statements in a loop, but,

if we had a select statement that had no where conditions, do we still need this? Will there be a speed increase or should i not use prepared statement for this condition?

select * from mytable

[NogDog]

If there are no input parameters to bind and you do not plan to reuse the query in that script and you do not want/need to bind output parameters, then it is probably somewhat more efficient to just use mysqli::query() instead of a prepared statement. Whether or not the difference is actually noticeable is another question. 🙂
