This is what i get when i try accessing MySQL...
with a red stop sign, and every couple of seconds another window pops up with the same message. The only way for me to stop it is to stop the service
"Access violation at address 10002593 in mudule 'LIBMYSQL.dll' Read of address 00000000"

any suggestions

Ive already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the product just in case i did something wrong... same issue

    Try wampserver? 😉

    First, though, make sure you only have one copy of libmysql.dll on your computer in the applicable PHP directory (delete or rename any others). Not sure if the wrong DLL would cause that particular error, but I know such duplicate DLLs have been known to cause problems.

      I use XAMPP.. but you should really take it up with the company forum lol but. like NogDog says check the .dlls and make sure there is only one. try downloading it again and then reinstalling it. if you need i could send you the one i used and i know it works.

        if i download wamp

        another thing, why is it that if there are two diff dll files, why would that give me that error msg

          Smackie i uninstalled it and reinstalled it, same error... one u used what do u mean, r u talking about the dll file or what?

            I'm not talking about uninstalling it and reinstalling it. I'm talking about redownloading the .exe again (because you might not have gotten all the files or one of the files is corrupted). and i was talking about. if you want i could send you the installer that i have. and btw when you uninstalled did you make sure that all the files that was in xampp was completely gone and also in registry. the reason why is because sometimes the the corrupted file would stay behind.

              This is the one i have xampp-win32-1.6.6a-installer is that the one u have

                yes thats the one i have.

                  THIS IS WHAT I FOUND... I FOUND IT THROUGH GOOGLE DOT COM
                  BUT I HAVE A QUESTION...
                  WHATS MY DBA AND DOES THAT MEAN DATABASE ACCOUNT?

                  Getting the error while starting the WinMySQLadmin :

                  “access violation at address 10002593 in module ‘LIBMYSQL.dll’ read at
                  address 00000000.”

                  Solution :
                  Click on the my.ini Setup tab

                  Change the below default line at the bottom :
                  user=root
                  password=password

                  to

                  user=<your DBA account>
                  password=<your DBA password>

                  Another thing had said to leave the user as ROOT and the password as (NOTHING)

                  IE

                  user=root
                  password=
