A better way than linked tables?

Here's the situation...the company i work for is switching from onsite webhosting to an offsite hoster. We had everything switched over and I was working out the last bugs in the system before doing DNS transfers. I got an error something like

"PMA Database ... not OK General relation features Disabled"

A number of the websites we are currently host use linked tables within mysql databases. Our new hoster finally informs me ...now...after everything else is already done....that they do not support the use of linked tables, and have no plan to do so anytime in the near future. So now...I am stuck.
Is there a better way to use these databases, without having to use linked tables? the linked tables are used to connect calendars with news, notices and events so that the websites display the info appropriate for the date. (calendar, calendarevents, calendareventsection)
Any idea on the best way to do this?

A quick search of the Web tells me that a "linked table" is "a table in a foreign database connected via an odbc-link to the current Access database". Is this what you mean by a linked table? If so, the solution seems to be that you either switch hosts again, or you simply redesign your database to only involve MySQL.

Sorry...being new to php and sql, I did not word that right.
I was referring to the relationship between tables in the database.
The sites in question do not use access databases with odbc drivers....those were a whole other can of worms...
the php-mysql sites were giving me errors, and I also got an error when creating databases...something like ... "PMA Database ... not OK, General relation features Disabled" ... when I asked the support department at the hoster, they said they did not support that feature.
Perhaps something is going off-track when I am running the sql backups or when I am using those .sql files to create the new databases on the host servers?

Oh, another quick Web search tells me that a PMA database is "an optional feature of PhpMyAdmin that records additional information about your schema."

From what I see, this has to do with specific third party software, and is not a PHP or MySQL problem. I suggest that you ask for help in a community that has a phpMyAdmin focus. Someone may still be able to help you here, but it is not as likely as in a phpMyAdmin community.

If I understand you correctly, you are using internally-defined relations between tables. In most php-mysql based sites, these relations are defined at the time of querying, using joins.

This would require you to re-program many of your queries...
