Apache 2.2.8 installation: page cannot be displayed

I download apache_2.2.8-win32-x86-openssl-0.9.8g and install it,but the problem is
when I try to test the installation of my Apache server,open my IE and type"http://localhost/" ,IE showed"The page cannot be displayed". Is there any solution? Or the installation process is flawed?
