[RESOLVED] write completed form to file?

Hey All,
How might one write a completed form to an html file?
I should clarify that it's not a form in the traditional sense, and I don't think submission is the answer.
I have worked up a Notes/summary page for a Home Inspection Report Employing textareas.

Upon completing the summary I would simply like to write the form complete with all the notes input there to an html file in a report/job specific folder, which I can then call into the LONG FORM of the report.
It seems this should be easy enough, but I'm totally drawing a blank.
I sure could use a nudge in the right direction.

Here's a sample of the form in question.
NOTE: Right-Clicking in a "Completed" textarea (value !='Note:') will add up to five additional textarea rows per section.

And heres a little lorm ipsem to paste in just for grins.

I have never tried it myself but I am sure you could create html files using php's file functions only. Also this may be a better fit for xml over html.

Yes, you can use file functions. You can even use file functions to create other php files which can get interesting.

Just write the html page into a variable then look up how to write the data to a file and give it the extension html or whatever.

Hey Thanks To You Both!
As The Master suggests, I have written the page into a variable, and succeeded in then writing to summary.php. That done, I discovered I could just about as easily stitch the original form into the LONG FORM version of my Home Inspection reporting module getting me that much closer to my end goal, however...

My next hurdle is managing the variable length of the form for print (users could write "War And Peace" in just one of the 78 possible textarea rows) but I'll address that in another post specific to the problem.
