Validation & PHP

Hello, this isn't really a coding problem but more of a w3 validation error. In some of my links i have something like this:

http://divnx.net/index.php?page=PHP&guide=Intro

When you check the validation for that on w3.org website, it brings back entity errors for the bold and red part in that link. So I was just wondering if there is a way around this or if I should set up those links differently.

You should urlencode the query string, either with [man]urlencode/man or by manually changing & to & in this case.

I did this after read the urlencode on the php.net page:

'<a href="index.php?page=Account', urlencode(&do=profile), '">Profile</a>';
I ended up getting an error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_DO, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or '$' in /home/divnxn5/public_html/index.php on line 65.

Also when you say change & to &amp, do you mean in the links? If so, I did that that and it was a totally different link, didn't take you where you should be at.

The text within the href attribute of an <a> tag does not need to be urlencoded: the browser will do its own encoding. To be valid mark-up, the "&" should be a "&amp;", though as far as I know all the major browsers will work with either.

<a href="http://www.example.com/page.php?var=some value&amp;var2=another value>click me</a>

If you click on that link, you'll see it displayed in your browser's address bar as:

http://www.example.com/page.php?var=some%20value&var2=another%20value
