Day of month (with Superscript) ex: 1st, 2nd, 3rd 4th...

I have a script that lists the next 4 days from a set date. I have a superscript showing the st, nd, rd or th for the day.

Example:

Day One: Monday, October 29th
Day Two: Tuesday, October 30th
Day Three: Wednesday, October 31st
Day Four: Thursday, November 1st

I want to know how to add the superscripts automatically, so if I change the dates, it will show the date plus the proper supescript.

Do you mean something like:

echo date('l, F jS');

?

Or even get a bit fancy with the HTML:

echo date('l, F j<\s\u\p>S</\s\u\p>');
