is it possible 4 me to take value from other control like hiddenfield etc if my combobox value is empty, if can please someone give advice.
something like this:

$searchn=(isset($POST['combobox']) ? $POST['combobox'] : '$hiddenfield_value');

If you replace "isset" with "!empty", I think you'll have what you want.
