Query, display all records minus latest.

I would like to query a MySQL database, what i am looking to do is select all the top records in the table and leave the bottom record.


so essentially every record aside from the latest record (which is at the bottom).

Table: article
Fields: Article_ID, Title, Content, Author, Date, Status, Category, Summary.

Any help would be much appreciated.

If you're using php, just throw the last one away.

How would i do that? i've searched google but couldnt find a way of doing this.

Read all the rows into an array and www.php.net/array_pop the last one off.

You could use an offset of 1 in a LIMIT clause, provided you don't mind the query returning its results in a descending sort order:

SELECT <column list> FROM article ORDER BY Article_ID DESC LIMIT 1, 9999999
