PHP / Mail Server Help

Hi there,

Just a thought, but is there anyway that PHP can control the mail server? This is based on a typical hosting package.

The reason I ask is to decipher whether a full on message system could be created that also records emails sent from an email client.

Any help appreciated!!

on a "typical hosting package" no the host will configure the mail server, you can control what is sent to it and when but thats about all.
